11 Year Old Hockey Shot – Amazing shot in hockey by an 11 year old boy could have landed him $50,000, but there was a problem. The boy hails from Owatonna and has hockey in his blood, but should he have money in his pocket.

The boy’s name is Nate Smith. The 11 year old went to the Shattuck St. Mary’s vs. The World celebrity hockey game. It took place last Thursday night. The game was a fundraiser for the Faribault Hockey Association. There were 25 NHL players currently in the league playing in the game, so it was kind of a big deal.

Standing 89 feet away from the goal, Nate made a shot with a 3 inch puck into a 3 1/2 inch gap in the net. The shot was an amazing one for anyone, let alone an 11 year old boy, but he did it.

This was a special raffle event where you had to pay $10 for the chance to take the shot. The winner, the person who made the shot, would receive $50,000 for their amazing hockey shot.

Nate made the shot and the fans went wild. The place erupted in cheer as you can imagine. The 11 year old hockey fan sank what is thought to be nearly an impossible shot into a 3 1/2 inch goal that was 89 feet away.

There was only one problem. Nate Smith wasn’t the one that pay for and signed the raffle ticket to get the chance to take the $50,000 shot on the ice. The person that paid for the raffle ticket and had his name on it was Nick Smith, his twin brother.

This may seem like a small technicality to you and I, but the production team of the fundraiser and the insurance company supplying the $50,000 seems to think it is a big deal. They expressed they let the contestants know the person taking the shot needs to be the same person whose name is on the raffle ticket. If it is not, then you will not be able to earn the prize money for the hockey shot.

Nick Smith, who had signed up for the raffle and paid the $10, was out of the arena at the time when his name was called. The father of the twin boys sent his twin brother Nate to take the shot in his place. Who would have thought he would have actually made the shot?

He did. When asked if this was Nick that made the $50,000 shot, the father and the sons told the truth that it was Nate.

Their honesty could have cost them $50,000, which the father says would go towards the boys college fund if they were to receive it. The insurance company and the fundraiser committee are weighing their decision on whether they are going to grand the money or stick to the rules of the raffle.

My believe is they will stick to the rules of the raffle and not give up the $50,o00, but stranger things have happened in this world.

My question for you today is what would you have done? If you had twin boys, one of them sank a $50,000 hockey shot in place of the other, would you have told the truth and turned down the money or would you have said this was Nick and taken the $50,000? - 11 Year Old Hockey Shot

I buy gifts for people all the time, including movie tickets and such – and it is legal. In fact, it would actually be the parents of an 11 year old who paid for the ticket. Nate made the shot. The money was allocated for him. Pay the kid, a**h***s.

And sign him up for the Habs, too.

I heard about this. I think the dad is good to teach his sons a lesson but that really sucks that they probably won’t get the money. The insurance company has to approve it and you know how stingy they are…

Right. It would be great if they gave him half, but that probably won’t happen either.
