The City of Chicago is having real estate inspection issues like many other cities all around the country. These cities are getting older and need repairs. The only problem is for home owners and investors to stay in compliance with the municipality, they have to have the City of Chicago inspectors out to view the property and provide validation that they are acting within the bounds of the City ordinances. Property inspectors are suppose to be a real estate insurance for buyers.

These cities, like Chicago, do not have enough real estate inspectors, City Inspectors, to handle the demand for inspections in a given area. If you call the building and inspection department in the City of Chicago, it is liable to take a week or two before you are able to get someone out to visit your property.
In the wake of the economic crisis, many of these municipalities are not able to hire additional help to meet this demand. They are expecting homeowners and investors to just be patient and wait until they are able to make time to visit the property for a real estate inspection in the City of Chicago.
