Man Accused Of Stealing $200,000 From Dates – $200,000 taken from dates of a man accused of stealing the funds. This is a very interesting case because many of our readers are single, dating, and interesting in finding love, but could this make you a target?

Sounds like something out of a movie, but you better believe it is real. No one wants to believe they are vulnerable when it comes to dates and trying to find someone to spend the rest of their lives with, but you never can be too careful. The world economy has forced many people into a corner and you just don’t know how they will react.

Let’s discuss the case a little bit and then talk about some things we can all do to protect our finances a little bit better. You can never be to careful as there are some very unscrupulous people out here in the world.

The man’s name is Albert Lovering from Waltham, Massachusettes. He was indicted on Tuesday with 23 counts of larceny and stealing $200,000 from dates with vulnerable women.

Bond was set at $10,000. Lovering pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Lovering used his gift of charm and conversation to woo women he met online into his web of trust and ending of stealing and robbing them blind. It was all very calculated and deliberate, which makes it even more difficult to believe.

To add to the madness of these actions by the accused man, he is married. This shows he has no regard for his marriage vows by cheating, but respect for women at all. He cheated on his wife and stole from his girlfriends.

His plan was to pretend to care about the women. Building a strong relationship of trust and affection with the ladies. Lovering would then ask the women for money to help him in his “financial time of need”.

These are the funds that totaled $200,000 thousand dollars. Lovering worked at his craft of wooing women online for many years. Apparently, his favorite wooing grounds were PlentyOfFish.com and CraigsList.com ads. Maybe it would be worth your wild to be very careful if engaging someone you meet on one of these websites or something similar.

Dating is something most people engage in if their relationship status is single, so I am not trying to get you to avoid dating altogether. However, I will encourage you to be careful with your financial future.

Some of these women gave Lovering a significant portion of their savings. Had he not been stopped, there is no telling what size money he could have been getting out of these women.

To be fair, I may think Lovering is a slime ball for seducing these women, but they have to have some responsibility in this as well. You have to be very careful with whom you give money to. If we are going to talk about money and finance all day everyday, then you have to be careful with whom you just turn around and give it to.

What do you think about dating and finance in today’s world? Are people just too loose with their finances causing many of their problems? Or was this just a case of women falling in love and wanting that love to be real?

Let’s hear your thoughts on Man Accused Of Stealing $200,000 From Dates.

I agree the people giving this guy the money have at least 50% responsibility in this. Beware of people you barely know wanting to borrow money or have some idea that needs financing. Take the emotion out of the deal and turn it over to your lawyer or accountant.

Interesting case. I think this crime has probably occured countless times. The internet ironically probably made it easier for him to commit the crimes, and easier to be caught. It’s difficult to judge the victims, but a new partner asking for financial support should have rung alarm bells.

This is low. As you mentioned, both parties are responsible. You should never give money to someone that you barely know and if you make the decision to do this, only give an amount that you consider a gift bc there is a high chance you won’t get it back.

good diversion of topic, not sure if posting the picture was a good thing to do specially since the case is not closed. We have people stealing in many ways, he used the unaccepted way, that’s his only fault.

Guess I should have said something, but that isn’t his actual picture. That is just a picture of a man. Maybe I should go back and clarify that is just stock photography.

He is a scum bag for this…especially since he is married.

We must safe guard our finances not only in terms of dating. There are many fraudulent people who are always ready to take advantage of our weak points. So what we have to do now is be vigilant and always secure our money.

Always secure you money. I couldn’t imagine giving money away to people I was dating. However, I have been married 10 years, so I am a long way from being married.
