This country is infatuated with millionaires and rich people to the point where you can become famous just for having money. And there is the kicker, you don’t even have to earn the money yourself. You can just be the descendant of someone that built an empire and you can be famous in this country and be an A – Lister on the social scene. It just speaks to who America is at its core.

Ok, maybe they won’t, but I am certain that there is one city on this list that you would have never suspected to be here, but it is and they don’t seem to be moving any time soon.

No surprise that New Your tops this list with Los Angeles and Chicago following based on their population, size, and history. But can you believe Detroit is on this list?
The fact that Detroit is on the list blew me away. Detroit isn’t the largest city in the nation and we all know about the documented struggles of Detroit during the down economy, but it is still #8 on the list. Unbelievable. The millionaires of that city must plan on buying up all the available real estate and make it a paradise amongst themselves. It seems like they would be able to afford it right about now.

I was pretty impressed with this list and even a little stumped that there weren’t any cities from the CT. Now I’m not from there but I live close to the boarder in Springfield, MA and all you hear about are the costs of living in that state and the amount of affluence there. I was excited to see Boston though! Looking at this list its also pretty easy to see that all these millionaires live in major metropolises that are hubs for innovation and technology. Great post and I cant wait to keep poking around the site.
